About the ACCEE Fund

Proposition 14 – the Anchorage Child Care and Early Education (ACCEE) Fund – passed with strong support from Anchorage voters in 2023. Proposition 14 dedicated the Municipality of Anchorage’s marijuana tax revenue to support child care and early childhood education. The funds started accumulating in January of 2024 and being dispersed beginning in 2025, with approximately $5 million available annually.

The Municipality, under the guidance of the ACCEE Fund Board, just completed implementation of its first budget (calendar year 2025). More information about the 2025 budget and programs is available on the Funded Programs page. This budget was largely based on the ACCEE Fund Implementation Team’s final report and recommended budget. The Implementation Team was formed as a temporary entity to lay a foundation for the important work the ACCEE Fund will accomplish in the years to come. The submission of the Implementation Team’s final report and budget recommendations marked the end of this near-year-long, community-directed effort. The ACCEE Fund is now guided and supported by the ACCEE Fund Board.

After months of work and listening sessions, along with a survey to solicit feedback and identify public priorities, the Board put forward its 2026 proposed budget at its August 7, 2025 meeting. It shared this final proposed budget and an accompanying cover letter with the Mayor and Assembly for consideration on August 29, 2025. The Assembly voted on the final budget on November 18, 2025, and ACCEE Fund staff are now working to implement this final 2026 budget (page 8) and corresponding programs.
